I consume books frequently, as i honestly believe in the mantra that knowledge is power. From Self-Improvement, to processes, business rhetorics are generally heavy, but this book promotes a feeling of being in control and its positive effects on your life.
The author, Gabrielle Bernstein, shows her life lessons and new approach to life through stories and personal experiences. This allowed me to really connect with her idea and mindset as i could relate to many of her experiences and how she reacted to them.
Gabrielle says, “My commitment with this book is to wake up as many people as possible to their connection to faith and joy. In that connection, we can be guided to our true purpose: to be love and spread love. These words can no longer be cute buzz phrases that we merely post on social media. Rather, these words must be our mission. The happiness, safety, and security we long for lies in our commitment to love.”
And she really follows through in this book.
Even within the first few pages of the book a quote stuck with me that has changed my outlook on myself and my business.
This is your resistance to love and freedom. The lingering darkness within you is resisting happiness.
Lightbulb moment, I do this all the time.
When you start to realise that you are in control of your reactions and your gratitude and acceptance your energy changes, and with this energy change you can start to attract what you deserve and be more proactive in searching for those opportunities. This realisation was incredibly powerful for me.
I have already recommended this book to every powerful women i know, and you owe it to yourself to give this way of thinking a chance!
Roseanna what are your thoughts?
Well, I love this book. I have read a lot recently about spirituality and I meditate regularly but this book gives you a new outlook on why you should do it.
Bernstein’s personal stories and life lessons help me connect with what she’s trying to tell us. Made me really see how much happier we can be if we surrender to love. Accepting our fears, but concentrate on the good stuff.
I know a lot of people are sceptical about spirituality but you tell me how happy they are. So they must be on to something?
You may think ‘how is this linked to business and what can I gain from book’ but you tell me how many times a day you’re scared you’re going to fail? How many days have been ‘ruined’ through fear? Maybe if we surrender that fear, our business will thrive, and ultimately – we’ll be happier. Isn’t that everyone’s life long goal?
